why buy African Butterfly?
About Us

Hi, I'm Tiffany an ex South African living in Melbourne. I was so impressed with the African Butterfly clip when I first found out about it that I wanted to give all Australian women the opportunity to own a unique piece of functional art but I really loved that fact that they are made locally in South Africa. The Africans of South Africa are a very proud people and it is great that there are people like Richard Gladwin, owner of African Butterfly, who are prepared to invest in their own backyard!

Richard and his team are constantly sourcing new beads and working on new designs to ensure that there is a clip for every personality regardless of hair colour or length !

They are casual enough to wear everyday yet smart enough for the corporate sector. The are also clips with Bling factor for those who want a hair clip less ordinary.

Time poor ladies will love how quickly and easily they can tie back their hair and best of all no protruding bits means you can lie down - great for the gym or a snooze on the couch and no more impaling yourself on the teeth of the crocodile/bulldog style clip on your car head rest.

Easy removal and wide spaced combs means they are gentle on your hair too, no more snarls and pulling of hair.

They are great for kids of all ages too and they stay in place, even in fine hair !  which makes them ideal for sport and dancing. My very gregarious four year old daughter just loves her African Butterfly clip and I love it too as it stays in place the whole day.

African Butterfly hair clips securely hold a wedding veil and make a great alternative to the traditional brides maid head dress.

And, if you don't have enough hair to tie back, an African Butterfly clip makes a great unique gift for the women who has everything ! Why not surprise her, she will thank you for it !

A Frequently Asked Question:

When I am demonstrating the African Butterfly clip I frequently get asked "How difficult is it to master ?"

Honestly, it can take a couple of attempts to get it right at first but it quickly becomes second nature, no mirror required !

The secret is to make sure the combs interlock !

With every purchase you receive a leaflet (which also is your guarantee) which demonstrates:
